Dual Enrollment

Take college classes at your high school

High school students have two pathways to begin earning college credit at Allan Hancock College while still enrolled in high school: College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) and High School Enrichment at AHC. Each option has its own eligibility requirements and enrollment process. These college courses allow students to earn units toward a certificate, associate degree, or transfer to a four-year university, and may also count toward a high school diploma or adult equivalency. In addition to academic pathways, many courses are part of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, helping students develop in-demand job skills and earn industry-recognized credentials. This opportunity gives students a valuable head start on both their higher education and career goals.

College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP)

  • Who: Current High School Students covered under a CCAP partnership
  • When: Fall and Spring
  • Where: Local High School Campus before, during, or after school hours
  • Fees: Subject to textbook fees if the high school district does not cover them

In CCAP Dual Enrollment, students enroll in AHC courses offered as part of a College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) partnership agreement between the Allan Hancock Community College District and a local high school district. Classes taught at a high school during school hours are restricted and are only open to students from a participating high school district. Classes taught at a high school campus outside of school hours are open to the public. Your instructor will notify you if your class is a CCAP course. Students receive both high school and college credit for completing courses in the Dual Enrollment program.

High School Enrichment (Non-CCAP)

  • Who: High School Students with a 2.0 GPA or higher
  • When: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer
  • Where: 伊人直播's Campus or Online
  • Fees: Subject to all fees, except enrollment fees

In High School Enrichment (Non-CCAP), students enroll in AHC courses that are not covered by a CCAP partnership agreement with a local high school district. These courses are typically taken outside of the regular high school day. Enrollment fees are waived, but college-related fees apply. Students are also responsible for the cost of any books and supplies. Students receive college credit for courses taken, but their high school will determine if they are able to receive dual credit toward their high school graduation requirements as well.
