Christine has been a counselor at 伊人直播 since 1996. The first 13 years of her career, she was the University Transfer Center Counselor/Coordinator where she coordinated university transfer services for the college and served as the lead transfer counselor, serving AHC鈥檚 transfer-directed student population. Since 2009, she has served as the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program Counselor/Coordinator in which she serves as the lead counselor for MESA and STEM students and coordinate the college鈥檚 MESA program and grant funding. Additionally, she teaches Personal Development courses and STEM 100 鈥 Academic Success Strategies for STEM students. Christine holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Agricultural Business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and a master鈥檚 degree in education, counseling and guidance from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She enjoys living on the Central Coast, competing in triathlons locally and throughout the state, being a mother of twins, and supporting student success among the student body of 伊人直播.

Angelica has been a part-time counselor at 伊人直播 since 2015. She has been serving as the MESA/STEM Counselor in the MESA/STEM Academic Success Center. Prior to beginning her career as a counselor, she interned with the STEM and MESA Programs as a Career Mentor and Counseling Intern. She has developed a strong commitment and passion to supporting students succeed academically and go onto the 4-year university.
Angelica is a first generation Hancock Alumni. She transferred to California State University, Northridge and earned a Bachelor degree in Sociology. She also holds a Master Degree in Education, Counseling and Guidance from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. During her free time, Angelica enjoys spending time with her family, visiting beaches, and hiking our local trails.

Bryce began working at 伊人直播 at the start of 2020. He was born and raised in San Luis Obispo county, graduating from Arroyo Grande High School in 2014, and enrolling at Cuesta College as a Promise Scholarship student. After transferring to UC Davis, he converted to Islam and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Religious Studies. In pursuit of his degree, he spent much of his study time in spaces similar to the MESA/STEM Academic Success Center. As the STEM Learning Lab Coordinator, he takes great joy in assisting students and faculty that walk a similar path to his own. He's also a fan of video games and anime; come check out his office where he proudly displays his Gundam plastic models.

Kyra began working at 伊人直播 as the Lompoc Valley Center鈥檚 STEM Learning Lab Coordinator at the start of 2026.
She was born and raised in Santa Maria and is an AHC biology major alumna. As an AHC student, she utilized the MESA/STEM Academic Success Center and served as a cellular biology tutor. After graduating from AHC in 2019, she transferred to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a Concentration in Ecology, Evolution, Biodiversity, and Conservation in 2021.
As the LVC STEM Learning Lab Coordinator, Kyra greatly enjoys working with and supporting AHC students, staff, and faculty. When providing tutoring aid, chemistry and biology are Kyra鈥檚 strongest subject knowledge areas. During her free time, Kyra enjoys reading, doing yoga, and spending time with her loved ones and pets.

Ruby joined 伊人直播 in Spring 2026 as the MESA/STEM Academic Success Center Support Specialist. Born and raised in Santa Maria, she is proud to return to the same campus that played an important role in her own college journey. Ruby is a first-generation college graduate and an alumnus of 伊人直播, where she participated in the EOPS program. After graduating from AHC in 2022, she transferred to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. 
Through her own experience as a first-generation student, Ruby understands how powerful mentorship, community, and campus resources can be in helping students reach their goals. She is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment where MESA students feel encouraged, connected, and confident in pursuing their academic and transfer goals in STEM fields. 
Ruby enjoys working closely with students, faculty, and staff to support student success and help build a strong sense of community in the MESA/STEM Center. Outside of work, Ruby enjoys gardening, creating new projects, cooking, and spending time with her loved ones and pets.

 

Dorine and Team

Dorine Mathieu, MESA Center Support Specialist, Emerita

Dorine worked at 伊人直播 starting early 2005. She began working in the Vice President of Student Services Office, as an assistant and then as a part-time Interim Student Activities Coordinator. In 2008, she began working for the MESA (Math, Engineering and Science Achievement) Program and additionally six years as the MESA Club advisor. She is also an alumna of 伊人直播. As a first generation college student herself, Dorine is passionate about encouraging and supporting students in pursuit of higher education. Dorine retired in Spring 2026.
